Plumbing calls don't wait for a good moment. A pipe bursts in a basement at 2 a.m., a water heater gives out on a Sunday, and the call about next week's bathroom job comes in while you're under a sink with both hands full. Every call you can't pick up goes to voicemail, and plenty of callers just try the next plumber on the list.
Call Welcome answers the calls you don't. Your receptionist tells callers it's an AI, asks what's wrong and where, and takes down their name, number and address. A routine job comes to you as a text. A burst pipe or a sewage backup counts as an emergency: it's put through to your phone or texted to you right away, as you choose, and the caller hears what to do while they wait, like turning off the main shut-off if they know where it is.
You keep your own number. The calls you don't answer forward to your receptionist, and every message and transcript waits in your portal.

Emergencies
These count as emergencies for plumbers. Each is put through to your phone or texted to you right away, as you choose; everything else comes to you as a message.
burst pipe
active leak
flooding
no water
sewage backup
water heater leaking
Whatever your trade, a caller who mentions a gas smell or a carbon monoxide alarm is told to get out and call the gas company or 911 from outside. Smoke or fire, an electrical shock or someone hurt means calling 911 now. Either way, you get a SAFETY text right away.

Puts your emergencies straight through, during business hours or any time, as you choose
Yes. It listens for what plumbing emergencies sound like (a burst pipe, active flooding, sewage backing up, no water) and treats those as emergencies. Anything else is taken as a routine message. You choose whether emergencies are put through to your phone or texted to you.
What if a caller smells gas?
Gas is a safety call, whatever your trade. The receptionist tells the caller to get out and call the gas company or 911 from outside, then texts you right away. It doesn't book or quote gas work.
Will it quote prices for jobs?
Only what you tell it to. You write the answers it gives, such as your hours, your service area or how you charge for a visit. For anything else, it takes a message so you can call back.
Do I keep my business number?
Yes. You turn on call forwarding for the calls you don't answer, and they go to your receptionist. Your number, your listings and the number on your truck stay the same.
