Call Welcome

Paving

An AI receptionist for paving companies.

Paving season is short, and it's loud. From spring to the first frost you're on a paver or a roller, and you won't hear the phone over the machines, let alone answer it. That's exactly when homeowners call for driveway quotes, sealcoating and interlock patios, and a quote request left in voicemail can sit until the end of a long day.

Your receptionist takes those calls for you. It tells callers it's an AI, asks what they'd like done and where, and takes down their name, number and address, along with when they'd like someone to come out to measure. Each request comes to you as a text. Paving takes no emergency calls, so every call is taken as a message and nobody is put through.

You keep your own number. The calls you can't answer forward to your receptionist, and it answers all year, so the winter calls about next spring's driveway are taken down too. Every message and transcript is in your portal.

What it handles

  • asphalt driveways
  • driveway repair and resurfacing
  • sealcoating
  • interlocking stone
  • walkways and patios
  • curbing

Emergencies

Most paving can wait for a call back, so every call is taken as a message and texted to you. If some of your calls can't wait, you can list your own emergencies in your profile.

Whatever your trade, a caller who mentions a gas smell or a carbon monoxide alarm is told to get out and call the gas company or 911 from outside. Smoke or fire, an electrical shock or someone hurt means calling 911 now. Either way, you get a SAFETY text right away.

Questions from paving companies

Can it take quote requests while we're paving?

Yes, that's when it's most useful. It asks what the caller wants done, such as a new asphalt driveway, resurfacing or interlock, and when they'd like someone to come out, then texts it all to you. You confirm the visit when you call back.

Can it tell callers when our season starts?

Yes, if you write it in. You give it answers to questions like when you start taking jobs, where you work and how you quote, and it answers from them. It's told never to make up hours, prices or availability you haven't given it.

What about callers outside our area?

It knows your service area from your profile. A caller who may be outside it is told so kindly and offered a message, so you can decide whether the drive is worth it.
