A garage door call is rarely a convenient one. A spring lets go with a bang at seven in the morning and the car is stuck inside, or a door won't close at night and the house is left open. Meanwhile you're on a stepladder in someone else's garage with an opener in pieces, and the phone is ringing in the truck.
Your receptionist answers those calls. It tells callers it's an AI, asks what the door is doing and where, and takes down their name, number and address. A broken spring, a door off its track, a door stuck open and a door that won't close count as emergencies: they're put through to your phone or texted right away, as you choose, and if a spring is broken or the door is off its track, the caller is told not to try to lift or run the door in the meantime. New doors, opener installs and tune-ups come to you as a text, with when the caller would like someone to come out.
You keep your own number. Only the calls you don't answer go to your receptionist, and every message and transcript is kept in your portal.

Emergencies
These count as emergencies for garage door companies. Each is put through to your phone or texted to you right away, as you choose; everything else comes to you as a message.
door stuck open
door off its track
broken spring
door won't close
Whatever your trade, a caller who mentions a gas smell or a carbon monoxide alarm is told to get out and call the gas company or 911 from outside. Smoke or fire, an electrical shock or someone hurt means calling 911 now. Either way, you get a SAFETY text right away.

Not to try to lift the door or run the opener. A broken spring is one of a garage door company's usual emergencies, with a door off its track, a door stuck open and a door that won't close, so the call is put through to you or texted right away, as you choose.
Can it take requests for a new door or opener?
Yes. It takes down what the caller wants, the address and when they'd like someone to come out, and texts it to you. You confirm the time when you call back; it never promises one.
What will the text tell me?
The caller's name and number, what's wrong in a sentence, and the address, starting with EMERGENCY when it's one. If they asked for a visit, the text says when they'd like it. The transcript of the whole call is in your portal.
